1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website CipherSend.link (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and CipherSend.link ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

CipherSend.link is a secure, privacy-focused tool designed to facilitate the sharing of sensitive information (such as passwords, API keys, or private notes) via secure, one-time links.

2.1 Core Functionality The Service utilizes client-side encryption. This means your data is encrypted in your web browser before it is sent to our servers. The decryption key is contained within the generated link and is never stored by us.

2.2 Ephemeral Data & Expiration You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Links are strictly one-time use or time-bound.
  • Data associated with a link is permanently deleted from our servers immediately after it is viewed OR after 24 hours have passed since creation, whichever occurs first.
  • Once deleted, data is irretrievable.

2.3 No Account Required The Service currently operates on a frictionless, anonymous basis. No user account registration is required to generate or view links.

3. Zero-Knowledge & Data Recovery

3.1 No Ability to Decrypt Because encryption occurs client-side, we do not have access to the plain text of your secrets, nor do we possess the decryption keys required to view them.

3.2 No Recovery WARNING: If you lose the generated link, or if the link expires/is viewed by an unintended recipient, we cannot recover the data for you. You are solely responsible for safeguarding the links you generate.

4. User Conduct and Prohibited Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You are strictly prohibited from using CipherSend.link to:

  • Illegal Activity: Engage in any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious activity.
  • Malware Distribution: Upload, share, or distribute viruses, malware, ransomware, or any malicious code.
  • Phishing: Create links intended to deceive recipients or harvest credentials (phishing).
  • Harassment: Share content that is threatening, abusive, defamatory, or constitutes hate speech.
  • Illegal Content: Distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any other content prohibited by applicable law.

4.1 Right to Restrict Access We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to block IP addresses, rate-limit access, or restrict usage if we detect abuse, abnormal traffic patterns, or violations of these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Service Rights All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service (excluding user-submitted content), including code, design, logos, and features, are and will remain the exclusive property of CipherSend.link.

5.2 User Content We claim no intellectual property rights over the secrets or text you encrypt using the Service.

6. Service Modifications and Payment Terms

6.1 Free and Paid Tiers The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce premium features ("Pro" or "Enterprise" tiers) in the future that may require payment. We will strictly not charge for previously free features without prior notice; however, new functionality may be gated behind a subscription.

6.2 Modifications We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time with or without notice. You agree that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
  • WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
  • WARRANTIES REGARDING THE RELIABILITY OR ACCURACY OF THE CRYPTOGRAPHIC IMPLEMENTATIONS USED.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT DATA ENCRYPTED VIA THE SERVICE WILL BE IMMUNE TO BRUTE-FORCE ATTACKS OR FUTURE CRYPTOGRAPHIC VULNERABILITIES.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CIPHERSEND.LINK, ITS AFFILIATES, OPERATORS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.
  • DAMAGES RESULTING FROM: (i) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (ii) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; OR (iii) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.

SPECIFICALLY, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM LOST SECRETS, FAILED DELIVERY OF LINKS, OR DELETION OF DATA PRIOR TO VIEWING.

9. Eligibility

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are under this age, you may not use the Service.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
